How to create a new menu entry

  1. Decide where you want your menu to go.  The three main options are:
    1. The blue navigation menu bar near the top of the page.  This is the "Top Bar."
    2. The long navigation menu on the right hand side, called "More Information."
    3. The "secondary links" in the bottom right hand corner.
  2. Log on
  3. Point your mouse at the "Site Building" menu in the black menu bar at the very top of the page.  Click on "Menus."
  4. Click on the menu you want to add to
  5. Click on the "Add Item" tab near the top of the page.
  6. The following information is required:
    1. Path: This is where the menu item will lead.  It can be anywhere on the web.
    2. Menu link title: This is the name that will be visible to people when they see the menu
  7. The following information is optional:
    1. Enabled: You can disable menu items if you don't want them to show up.  This is useful if you want to hide a menu item but not necessarily delete it.
    2. Expanded: Some menus have options inside them, like the "About" menu.  The item has to be "expanded" if you want to see inside.
    3. Parent item: Your menu item will show up inside this one.  You can pick any existing menu on the site.
    4. Weight: Larger numbers are "heavier" and will "sink" down the list; lighter (negative) numbers will "rise" up the list.
