Using Views

Views are a special way of viewing data on the website, similar to Microsoft Access or Filemaker.  Custom views are used on UCconsortium.org for the calendaraffiliates, and many more.

To edit a custom view:

  1. Log on
  2. Point the mouse at "Site Building" in the black menu at the very top of the page
  3. Click on "Views"
  4. This will show you a list of all views used by UCconsortium.org; it's a long list!  The views that were custom made specifically for the Consortium are all marked with the tag "Consortium," so you can filter by that tag.  Each view has a title and description.
  5. Click "Edit" on the view you want to edit
  6. This takes you to the edit page for that view.  You can edit different variants of the same view, and for each variant, you can adjust layout, filters, fields, and a whole range of other options.

For more information on Views, visit the Views project page on Drupal.org.

Please note: This manual entry is intentionally short.  Views is one of the most advanced features of Drupal web design.  It has already been covered elsewhere.  If you have a specific question, you can try the Drupal community support forums, or hire an expert.
